David A. Mollinger, 61, of Fremont, OH passed away on June 21, 2026 at his home. He was born on July 26, 1964 in Fremont, OH, the son of John P. and Letitia (Folk) Mollinger. He was a 1982 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and Vanguard Vocational School in the Carpentry program.
Dave was known for his fun and kind-hearted spirit. He loved spending time with his best friends and family. He was always the “handyman” we could count on to lend a helping hand and rarely wanted compensated for his work because that is just who he was. Dave’s greatest skill was woodworking and building. His favorite place was spending time in the garage he built himself. He tinkered out there every nice day there was, no matter the season. He loved it when his nieces and nephews stopped by while he was out there to say hello. Especially when his close nephew Michael would pop in for a beer and jokes.
Dave was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his fun spirit and just the easy, laid-back guy that he was. He was known for ending his thoughts with …”and stuff”.
Dave is survived by his siblings, Cheryl (Michael) Ohms, Green Springs, Linda (Randy) Dennis, Fremont, John (Jecelyn) Mollinger, Wapakoneta and Vickie Fulton, Fremont; step-siblings, Caroline (Bruce) Reed, Dolores (Andy) Capogrosso both of Fremont, Tom (Marica) Everett, Clyde and many nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Nancy Mollinger; great niece, Solana Ruppert.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St, Fremont, OH. In true Dave fashion, Browns gear or comfortable attire is encouraged.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
Memorials can be made in his honor to Vanguard Vocational School- Carpentry Program or Humane Society of Sandusky County.
