Cheryl A. Knapp

Cheryl A. Knapp, 74 of Fremont, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1950 in Fremont, OH to Cletus and Cecelia (Rote) Mosser. Cheryl was a 1968 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School and then went on to graduate from the University of Toledo with her bachelor in art and French and received her master’s degree in education from the University of Findlay.

Cheryl married Robert “Bob” Knapp on July 30, 1976 in Fremont, OH. She worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines where she traveled the world for twenty years. Cheryl inspired and educated many young minds as an art teacher for Port Clinton City Schools until she retired after twenty-five years of service. Cheryl enjoyed spending time boating with The Friendship Four who were like family for the last forty years: John and Alison Lauer, Denny and Linda Rectenwald and Mike and Shari Beier. She had been blessed with the companionship of many golden retrievers, each bringing their own unique charm and joy but Bailey holds a special place in Cheryl’s heart.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of almost fifty years, Bob Knapp; son, Derek Knapp, both of Fremont, OH; brother, Curtis Mosser, Plano, TX and sister, Christin Mosser, Milan, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Craig Mosser and brother-in-law, Charles Mosser.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 3 to 7 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, Oh 43420.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025; 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in Cheryl’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
