Charlotte Jean Hill

Charlotte Jean (Detterman) Hill, 79, of Fremont, OH, passed away at her home in Fremont on Tuesday, July 2, 2026. Charlotte was born on October 1, 1946 to Edson and Edna (Rohe) Detterman in Tiffin, OH. She married James B. Hill Sr. on November 25, 1964 in Maryland and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2016.

Charlotte worked for Wendy’s and McDonalds until she retired in 2014 after twenty-five years of service. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and Shirley Temple dolls. Charlotte enjoyed gardening and was a member of the CB Radio Club and the Red Hat Society.

Charlotte is survived by her sons, James B. Hill Jr., Woodville, OH, Jeffrey Hill, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Jon, James, Sabrina, Justin, Austin, Alexis, Kimber and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James B. Hill Sr; daughter, Janine Hill.

It was Charlotte’s wish to not have services at this time and to be buried with her husband at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde, OH.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the Veterans Association or the Cancer Society.
