Cathy Jean Elswick

Cathy Jean Elswick went to be with the Lord on July 13th, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2nd, 1961 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Betty (Carnicom) and Eugene Stout. She married Oliver “Leon” Elswick on December 27th, 1983, and he survives.

Cathy loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed playing online games, scratch off tickets, and doing puzzles. She was a member of Fremont Eagles, loved anything to do with The Wizard of Oz and OSU, and absolutely dreaded trying to figure out what to cook for supper every night. She loved finding ways to “ground” her family members and would get a kick out of them finding a good reason to “ground” her.

Cathy is survived by Leon, her loving husband of 42 years, son James Stout, daughter Angela (Daniel) Lewis all of Fremont. Grandchildren Christian Stout of Shelby, Ohio, and Harper Meggitt of Fremont. Sister Sharon (Bud) Bowman of Mansfield, OH, brother Dennis (Suzette) Stout of Castalia, OH and sister Vicki Ollom of Fremont, Mother-in-Law Lorene Elswick of Green Springs, OH, brothers-in-law Ben Elswick of Green Springs, OH and Lenny Elswick of Fremont, honorary “adoptive daughters” Rebecca Rattamasribounreuang of Toledo, Ohio, and Jessica Armentrout of Fremont, and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Christina Stout, and siblings Marsha, Richard, and David. Father-in-law Oliver Elswick, sister-in-law Mary Ann Stout, and brother-in-law Steve Ollom.

It was Cathy’s wish to not have any funeral services, and the family will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
