Catherine D. (Klisz) Kritzell, 92 of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Valley View Health Campus. She was born on November 24, 1932 to Andrew and Kathryn (Socha) Klisz in Fremont, OH. She was a 1951 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She married James J. Kritzell on May 5, 1956 at St. Casimir Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2016. They were blessed to have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
Catherine “Blondie” was a lifelong member of St. Casmir Catholic Church and then Sacred Heart Parish. She enjoyed baking including her world famous carrot cake, cooking, BINGO, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Catherine was an avid jigsaw puzzler and solving over 14,000 Wordscapes puzzles. She had a green thumb and loved gardening and indoor plants her favorite being Christmas Cactus. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved opposing her grandson Gabe, who is an enthusiastic Cleveland Indians fan. Gabe lovingly and steadfastly brought her comfort, support and joy and sent her well on her way.
Catherine’s spunk and stubbornness sustained her to live independently until her passing. Her quick wit and sarcasm were a joy to be around. She will be missed by all who loved her and there were many.
Not enough can be said about her unwavering service and love to her beloved daughter, Lynn Marie, for nearly fifty years. The example she set for selflessness, devotion and trust in God was unmatched. She always carried a rosary in her pocket and had a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary who guided her home.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lori Kritzell-Noe, Dave Noe; grandchildren, Gabriel, Gwendolyn, Hailey, Amber, Andrew and Chase Noe, all of Perrysburg, OH and sister, Sophie Kuzma, of Fremont, OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Klisz and Kathryn (Socha) Klisz, husband, James J. Kritzell; daughter, Lynn Marie Kritzell; six brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, OH 43420.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at noon at the church officiated by Fr. Krzysztof Kardzis.
Burial will follow at St. Jospeh Cemetery.
A luncheon will be held following the services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Memorials can be made in Catherine’s Honor to Sacred Heart Parish.
