Carmelita Yeisley, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 6, 2025 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH. She was born on June 8, 1953 in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Roman and Harriet (Maldonado) Lopez. Carmen was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Bowling Green State University for Early Childhood Education and Nutrition.
Carmelita married Robert Yeisley on July 5, 1980 in Clyde, OH and he survives. She worked at H.J. Heinz and was then a teacher at Temple Christian Academy for several years. Carmelita then worked at Aeroquip until she retired due to health issues. She was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association and served as the secretary for several years. Carmelita was also a member of Rivers of Living Water Ministries where she was a Sunday school teacher. Carmelita enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, quilting and crafting. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Carmelita is survived by her loving husband, Robert Yeisley, Fremont; daughters, Star Ackerman, Alethea Yeisley and Andrea Yeisley all of Columbus, OH; granddaughters, Alandria “Ali” (Tarik Willis) Cobb, Sienna (Evan Gerwin) Cobb and Aaliya Yeisley; great grandson, Roman Willis; siblings, Lynn (John) Keyes, Ronald (Betty-Jane) Lopez, Felicia Obregon, Felix (Sandy) Lopez, Harriet (Martin) Hernandez, Bernadine (Jose) Martinez, Rachel (Scott) Stine; brother-in-law, Ernest Medellin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ramona (Robert) Young and Esperanza “Hope” Medellin and brother-in-law, Thomas Obregon, Jr.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025; 10:30 a.m. at Rivers of Living Water Ministries, 604 Howland Street, Fremont, Ohio 43420 with an hour of visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
It is the families wish to have everyone wear white or bright colors to her services in honor of her joyful new beginning in heaven.
Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH at a later date.
Memorial can be made to the family.
