Bryan Michael DiVeto, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 surrounded by his family at home. He was born on September 25, 1953 in Glendale, CA to his Canadian parents, Hillard DiVeto and Phyllis (Mustard) DiVeto Wagner, where he always joked "made in America with Canadian parts." When Bryan was five years old, the family moved to Plymouth, MI and had a dual citizenship in Canada. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1972 where he played the French Horn in the high school band. The band had the opportunity to play with the Doc Severinsen Orchestra, that was on the Johnny Carson Show Orchestra. He then went on to attend Schoolcraft Community College.
Bryan had many passions and was a free spirit. He saved up and bought his favorite bike, a Kawasaki 900. In 1974 he and his lifelong friend, took a cross-country trip. It started in Canada going to Ontario where his brother, Paul, lived. Then they biked across the country, going 14,200 feet up to the top of Mt. Evans through a hailstorm in Telluride. They cruised US 1 Coast Highway in California. They then biked through Idaho, Montana, up through Canada and back to Michigan.
Bryan spent two seasons in Vail, CO where he worked and became an excellent skier. Once back in Michigan he married and had three children. He opened his own electronics store then went on to work for KJ Law for ten years. Eventually he and the family moved to Ohio where he worked for Quasar.
Bryan moved to Port Clinton, OH and there he had a Matthews boat, Southern Cross, which he and his family loved boating to the islands. He moved to Fremont, OH to live with his partner, Danielle. Bryan was a school bus driver with the Clyde-Green Springs School District.
After his retirement, Bryan earned his Captains License. He and Danielle bought a 36-foot sailboat, Obewan and he and Danielle and their dog, Annie, lived on the boat in Cape Coral, FL in the winter for several winters.
Bryan was always an avid sports fan, he rooted for the Red Wings, the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Michigan State University. He loved to golf and played tennis. Bryan had a great group of tennis buddies who he played tennis with three times a week, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Bryan is survived by his children, Jennifer (Jesse) Castorena, Timothy DiVeto and Dan (Mary) DiVeto; grandchildren, Sophia Castorena, Santino "Sonny" Castorena, Anthony DiVeto, and Abraham DiVeto; siblings, Paul (Laura Baird) DiVeto and Leeann (Joe) Banas; his partner, Danielle McClory; bonus children, Jennifer (Matt) Ollom and Matthew (Amanda Swedersky) McClory; many bonus grandchildren; lifelong friend, Mike Jett and his cat who he loved, Zoey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Hillard "Rick" DiVeto.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
