Brenda S. Butzier

Brenda S. Butzier, age 69, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2026, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, OH.

Born in Fremont, OH, on May 2nd, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Alice (Bork) and Harry Wilhelm. She was a 1975 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Brenda enjoyed working and spent over 31 years with the State of Ohio Adult Parole Authority. She found joy in time spent with family and friends and loved crafts, floral work, ceramic painting, and baking. Brenda will always be remembered for her beloved cutout sugar cookies—a legacy of sweetness that will live on in every recipe she passed down.

She is survived by her children, Eric (Andrea) Butzier of Fremont, OH; Matthew (Britani) Butzier of Fremont, OH; Mark (Bridget) Butzier of Medina, OH; and Stacy (Rick) Pollard of Burgoon, OH. She is also survived by her siblings, Edward (Joyce) Wilhelm of Northwood, OH; Larry Wilhelm of Fremont, OH; Linda (Jim) Schoen of Celina, OH; and Judy (Bill) Nehls of Gibsonburg, OH; her grandchildren—Adilyn, Logan, Chloe, Lincoln, Kolbin, Brynn, and Kallie—who were the light of her life; and many other close family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Joe Wilhelm, Margaret “Peg” Smith and Paul Wilhelm.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E. State Street, Fremont, OH 43420. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 1225 Oakwood Street, Fremont, OH 43420.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Good Shepherd Home of Fostoria or Heartland Hospice.
