Betty J. Burr, 88, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 24, 1934 in Republic, OH  the daughter of Maurice and Alice (Ginnever) Stickel. Betty married Carroll Edward Burr on November 23, 1952 at Vickery Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2005.  Betty worked in the meat department at Kroger’s for twenty-eight years until she retired.  She was an active member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church.  Betty enjoyed golfing, puzzles, playing Euchre, attending garage sales, feeding the birds and squirrels.  She was famous for her Sunday dinners of beef and noodles or stringy ham, popcorn and her love of Land-O-Lake butter. She loved to feed people and you never left her home hungry.

Betty is survived by her children; Gregory Burr and Kimberly (Kevin) Adams both of Fremont; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary Kay) Burr, Todd Burr, Jeff (Elizabeth) Burr, Bryan (Courtney) Adams, Kristen (Jeff) LeJeune, Betsy (Adam) Schoendorf, Nick (Bianca) Adams, Jessica Burr and Sara Garza; eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Ed Burr, son; Bruce Burr, sister, Norma Jean Jones and daughter-in-law, Marcia Burr.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, 1441 Fangboner Rd., Fremont, OH.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with a luncheon directly to follow.

A private burial will take place at Parkhurst Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in her honor to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church or Easter Seals.
