Bernice E. Ochs

Bernice E. Ochs, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Bethesda Care Center.  She was born on February 26, 1947 in Fremont, OH to Joseph and Alice (Clark) Sabo.  She was a 1965 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and went on to graduate from Terra State College in 1989.

Bernice was a secretary and manager at Farmers Home where she retired after many years of service.  She also worked at Fremont Baptist Temple as secretary for several years.  Bernice enjoyed crafting and activities at The Commons at Little Bark Creek where she was part of the welcoming committee, treasurer of the senior fund and head of the birthday committee. 

Bernice is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Brian) Davisson, Baltimore, OH, Jodi Slaughter, Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren, Nathan Davisson, Abigail Davisson, Hannah (Joel) Gualtieri, Amanda (Brian) Watts, Brittney Slaughter-Kawka, Curtis Slaughter, Desaray Slaughter and Emily Slaughter; twenty-one great grandchildren; siblings, Jo Ann Sabo, Fremont, Tim (Damaris) Sabo, Toledo, OH, Teri Peterson, Fremont, OH and Steve (Linda) Sabo, London, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eliose Cherry.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will be held following visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
