Arthur Charles Lowell

Arthur Charles Lowell, 83, of Fremont, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 surrounded by his family at the Cleveland Clinic. Art was born on August 16, 1942 to the late Charles Arthur and Gladys (Gendron) Lowell in Lowell, MA. Art married Jan LeRoy in 1990 in Macedonia, OH and she survives.

He was a graduate of Keith Acadamy High School. Art received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Lowell Technological Institute. Later he received his Masters of Inorganic Chemistry and PHD in Polymer Sciences from Case Western Reserve University.

Art was a Chemical Engineer/ Quality Manager for over forty years for several companies including, BF Goodrich, in Akron, OH, Michelin, in Charlotte, NC, Himont, Lake Charles, LA and Uniroyal, in Port Clinton, OH until he retired in 2005. He enjoyed western movies, reading, travelling and above all spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fremont. Art loved to help and give to others in any way that he could, even in death he was able to help many people by being an organ and tissue donor.

Art is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Jan Lowell; children, Michael (Marcie) Lowell, Middleburg Heights, OH, John (Lezlie) White Jr., Olmstead Falls, OH, Scott (Kelly) White, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Jacob Lowell, Emily (Ryan) Bolin, Braydon Scott (Presley) Lane, Kyrsten (Kameron Armentrout) White, Brooklyn Hackney, Zachary (Brittany) Zimmerman, Alexus (Dustin) Robinson, Nolan White; great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Peyton, Jaxson, Kendyll, Hudson, Evalynne, Elliannah, River Mae, Leila, Leah, Lettie, Lilia; sister, Karen (Mike) Bellemare, Virginia Beach, VA; brother-in-law, Earl J. (Linda) LeRoy, Rocky Mount, NC; nieces and nephews, Cindy (Tim) Goode, Shaun (Kim) Bellemare, Missy (Mel) Bellemare, Earl J. (Sherrie) LeRoy III, Adam (Laurie) LeRoy; close friends, Larry and Freida Brown and many cherished cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher “Scott” Lowell; sister, Sheila Lowell; parents-in-law, Earl J. and Pearl LeRoy.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, OH 43420.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church with a luncheon to follow.

Interment will take place at a later date at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, OH.

Memorials can be made in his honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont, OH.
