Andrew Russell

Andrew “AJ” Jeffrey Russell, 30 of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1996 in Findlay, OH to Ryan Russell and Andrea (Bennett) Ortiz. AJ was a 2014 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

AJ enjoyed gaming, especially favorites such as Hypixel SkyBlock, Elden Ring, and Pokémon. He also had a love for photography and spending time outdoors. Above all, AJ’s greatest joy and deepest love were his children; they were the center of his world, the light of his life, and the part of him that will live on most beautifully.

AJ is survived by his children, Willow, Colton, Gracelynn and Alexander “Scotty”; fiancé, Sydney Smith, all of Old Fort, OH; parents, Ryan Russell, Fostoria, OH, Andrea (Manny) Ortiz, Fremont, OH; siblings, Evan (Jenna) Ortiz, Daniella Ortiz, Max Ortiz, Landon Ortiz; maternal grandmother, Susan Harris; aunts & uncles, Leslie Thatcher, Brad Bennett, Jeremy (Jessica) Bennett, Emily Bennett, Rachel (Rich) Salobecke Ben Baker, many beloved cousins and his cats, Grizzly and Mr. Blade.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cheryl Kieffer and Jeffrey Russell.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 7 pm at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.

A Memorial Service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 7:00 pm at the church with Pastor Forrest Kirchenbauer officiating.
