Norman Foos

Norman L. Foos, 83, of Fremont, OH passed away on January 12, 2021 at Firelands Medical Center in Sandusky, OH.   He was born on April 13, 1937 in Fremont, OH the son of Louis G. and Dolores G. (Gabel) Foos.  Norman was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph High School.  Norman married Jean Garland on May 23, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and she survives.  He worked at Spieldenner Garage, Peerless Construction and then Mosser Construction until he retired as a Superintendent on May 1, 1999.  He was a member of the Ohio Operator Engineer Union Local 18.

Norman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan.  Norman loved taking care of his yard, fireworks and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Norman is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Jean Foos; children, Charles “Chuck” (Brenda) Foos, Dave (Diana Thomas) Foos and Ann (Tom) Renz all of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Lela Foos, Fremont; siblings, Gerald (Rosemary) Foos, Janet Brudzinski, Jim (Mary) Foos all of Fremont, Mary Ann (Dave) Young, Marblehead Lakeside, Carolyn (Dennis) Lavelle, Stuart, FL, Connie Reineck, Michael (Helen) Foos, and Judy (Jeff) Good all of Fremont; sister-in-law, Ella Marie Garland, Fremont; grandchildren, Kristina (Alex) Garza, Johnathan Foos, James (Kirsten) Foos, Ashley (Chris Nelson) Foos, Andrea (Josh) Sanford, Kimberly (Ethan Starkey) Foos, Kylie (Cory) Lunsford, Jeremy Foos, Jordan (Demi) Foos, Gabriel and Nicholas Renz; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Foos; siblings, Jack Foos and Peggy Mitchell; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cooley and brother-in-law, Charles Garland.

Visitation:  Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, January 18, 2021; 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.

The use of face masks is required while indoors at all services. Social distancing will be observed throughout all services with wait times taking place outdoors. If you would prefer, you may express your condolences below or call the funeral home at 419-332-6409 to request that your name be signed in the guest book.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
