
Myland “Mike” I. Overmyer, Jr., 72, of Fremont, OH passed away, from a short battle with bone cancer, on March 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 29, 1945 to Myland and Melba (Golembiowski) Overmyer, Sr. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Mike married Paulette Homan on July 22, 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2012. He was a truck driver for many years driving for Bowlus Trucking from 1972-85 and Whiteford Trucking. He then worked for Jim Dennis Construction and retired from L&G Trucking in 1997.
Mike was a NASCAR fan and was involved with horses with his family. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and was always the life of the party. Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Melissa “Missy” (John Biecheler III) Overmyer; granddaughter, Sierra (Austin Siefke) Overmyer; sister, Marilyn (Steve) Boonie; sister-in-law, Chris (Jerry) Milbrodt all of Fremont; nieces, Stacy (Bob) Hartman, Oak Harbor, Sonya (Tim) Zyski, Lindsay, OH; nephew, Steven Boonie Jr., Fremont; great nieces and nephews, Gus and Hank Hartman, Robert, Chance Joseph and Austin James Holsten, Lilly Rae, Violet Elizabeth and Kendall Boonie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Paulette Overmyer and step-father, Harry Kosman.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wondelry Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Memorial Service: Thursday, March 8, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Garden, Clyde with military honors provided by the V.F.W. and American Legion.

My deepest condolences to the family. I remember spending the night with my friend Missy at her parents house when we were teenagers. Missy’s dad would have Cheeseburgers waiting for us in the morning when we woke up. Rudy’s Cheeseburgers for breakfast were the best after being out all night miss behaving ..lol..
