
Michael Eugene Hill, 75, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He was born June 19, 1947 in Fremont, the son of Lester and Jennie Helen (Sipsma) Hill. He was a 1965 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Michael served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He married Viki Smith on February 13, 1971 at St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Michael worked as a warehouse supervisor at H.J. Heinz for forty-five years and retired in 2010. He was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Fremont Soup Kitchen and Eden Springs Care Facility. Michael was also a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed bowling. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events.
Michael is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Viki Hill, Fremont, OH; children, Shane (Jenny) Hill, Clermont, FL, Amie (Ryan) Wilson, Cardington, OH and Clint (Jen) Hill, Rising Sun, OH; brothers, Edwin (Patricia) Hill, Lindsey, OH and Thomas (Marsha) Hill, Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren, Sammantha, Alexis, and Mackenzie Hill; Tylor, Austin and Sam Wilson and Conner and Carson Hill; greatgrandchildren, Stella and Nora Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy Kaiser and brother-in-law, Brent Smith.
Visitation: Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Services: Saturday, October 29, 2022, 10:00 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 902 E. State St, Fremont, with one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery
Memorials can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, The Fremont Soup Kitchen or Eden Springs Care Facility.
