    I had many wonderful times with Matt over the years. He was one of the really good guys you come across in life. A truer statement of Matt comes from Robert Burns “Epitaph for my own friend”
    An honest man here lies at rest,
    As e’er God with His image blest:
    The friend of man, the friend of truth;
    The friend of age, and guide of youth:
    Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
    Few heads with knowledge so inform’d:
    If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
    If there is none, he made the best of this.

    From a heartbroken friend.

    I met Matt through Dave & Theresa Nichols in Ct over 15 years ago. He had that infectious smile. He loved to have fun. My husband, Dave and Matt had some great times. Unfortunately, I lost my husband Bobby in a tragic quadding accident, similiar to Matt. In time if you need someone to talk to Abby, you can reach out to me. My girls were 5 & 7. It’s quite a journey as a single mom. Matt touched our hearts in Ct. it is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you all.

    I am not sure I can adequately convey my feelings of sadness at losing my cousin, Matt. We shared a bond, both “married in” to this wonderful family. I’ll always have my last memory of him – sitting on the couch watching football and talking a lot about nothing and silly, squealing children.

    I’m so sorry this happened. I’ll miss him as long as I live.

    Dear McCabe Family,

    Matt was the most dynamic and pragmatic person I have ever met. He had a special way of walking that was always just a little bit faster than anyone else’s pace. Matt and I always got along and our personalities mated up perfectly. I learned a lot from Matt and his memory will live on for many generations. Stay strong during these trying times, I can only imagine what someone who was closer to Matt is going through.

    Abby,
    My sorrow for you and your children is great but I know from the joy in your voice and light in your eyes what a wonderful husband and father Matt must have been. Life does not always adhere to what we plan or the path we thought we would travel however, I do believe in the paths put before us help us grow and strech. I also do believe that love knows no limits through time or space. The journey before you, I can only imagine but know that you have support, love, and hope to help you through. You are a remarkable woman and our prayers will forever be with you all. Thank you for being such a great role model for myself and my children. Sincerely Carmelita Talty
