
Mary K. Bordner, 98, of Green Springs, OH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Valley View Health Campus. She was born April 28, 1922 in Old Fort, OH, the daughter of Alvin and Zella (May) Eborg. She was a 1940 graduate of Old Fort High School. Mary married George W. Bordner on October 28, 1940 in Old Fort and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a homemaker and owned and operated a restaurant in Green Springs in the 1960’s for several years. She worked as a cashier at Gladiuex food services at Whirlpool Corporation from 1962 until retirement in 1987. Mary managed the bookkeeping and finances for the family farm from 1957 until 1977.
Mary was a member of the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, Calvary United Methodist Church and State President of Farmwomen’s Club, and various card clubs. She also volunteered at Memorial Hospital. Mary’s hobbies included gardening and bowling on multiple leagues. She enjoyed all football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Cleveland Browns, and attending her children’s sporting and band events. She loved traveling and wintering in Florida and square dancing.
Mary is survived by her children, Carolyn (Joe) Bolander, Winter Haven, FL, Robert (Patricia) Bordner, Fremont, OH, Maureen Surrency, St. Augustine, FL, Mike (Mary Lou) Bordner, Green Springs and Bill Bordner, Fremont, OH; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George W. Bordner; daughter, Marilyn Bordner-Olesen; brothers, Ray, Henry, Paul and Gloyd Eborg; great grandson, Ben Hertzman.
Visitation: Monday, March 22, 2021, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH.
The use of face masks is required while indoors at all services. Social distancing will be observed throughout all services with wait times taking place outdoors. Services are private.
Burial will take place at Green Springs Cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Mary was my favorite aunt. She “almost” always had a smile and her laugh was delightful. The pictures were so wonderful to see. The video was very well done and a good memory lane visit. I remember seeing some of the pictures but it was good to see the others. The pictures show a full and satisfying life.

So sorry I did not know of her passing until today
Loved her and the family too had some good eats at her place during the hog roasts .
If I had known I’d had the kids to come to the funeral home .
As I’m in a nursing home myself .have been at Bethesda for 6 months .May the goo Lord above watch over the family at this time of loss .
She will be missed ,but you will be ale to see her again
