Marvail “Sue” Lakomy-Wheeler, 89, of Fremont, OH passed away surrounded by her children on November 3, 2014 at her son’s home. She was born on August 4, 1925 in Dearborn, MI to Norbert and Mary (Schwohl) Lerch. She married Ambrose Lakomy on May 4, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1976. She then married Raymond Wheeler on September 19, 1981 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1999.
Sue was a registered nurse and was employed with Community Hospital, Memorial Hospital and Sandusky County Home Health Care until she retired in 1979. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed skiing, hiking, traveling and sewing.
Sue is survived by her children, Marilyn (Rod) Sitzman, Austin, TX, Kathy (Trent) Longo, Findlay, OH, Anthony Lakomy and Beth (Bill) Boyd both of Fremont and Teresa Kolbe-Flock, Sidney, OH; grandchildren, Darius and Justin Sitzman, Eva Berry, Alex Sitzman, Kristen Cifranic, Daniel Boyd, Drake and Brant Kolbe; siblings, Norbert Lerch and Mary Smith both of Acme, MI; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ambrose Lakomy and second husband, Raymond Wheeler.
Visitation: Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, November 7, 2014, 1:00 pm at the church with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH
