
Marilyn Jean Freeh, 91 of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Valley View Health Campus. She was born on March 2, 1932 in Green Springs, OH to Rollie and Mabel (Valentine) Cook. Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Green Springs High School and a 1953 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, OH. Marilyn married Thomas Freeh on June 18, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her on June 18, 2001. She worked for Memorial Hospital in the OB Delivery Department and retired after thirty-five years of service. Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering her time. She also enjoyed baking, especially homemade pies, vacationing at Lake Erie and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Michael Freeh, Fremont, OH, Dennis Freeh, Catawba Island, Catherine Freeh, Toledo, OH, Steven (Kelly) Freeh, Tipp City, OH, Nancy (Jerry) Rice, of Hawaii, Brian Freeh, of Utah and Amy (John) Priest, Maumee, OH; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Carl Cook, Alice Walter, Dorothy Garland, Lester Cook and Albert Cook.
Marilyn’s family would like to thank the many family and friends who were by Marilyn’s side these past few years. A special thank you to her nursing friends who provided support over the years.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 9, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH.
Burial will follow mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the family in care of Steven Freeh.
