Marianne Gabel died Sunday, Aug 20th unexpectedly after a lovely day of laying in the sun, talking with the kittens, and sharing love with her family and friends. Marianne embraced life, love and friendship but had an ongoing struggle with loss due to mental illness since her early adulthood. Despite this, she traveled extensively and had many good memories. She spent her last seven years living in Fremont at Pristine Senior Living. She graduated from SJCC in 1970 and went on to attend Notre Dame College in Cleveland and BGSU. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Psychology and Education. Marianne was an accomplished artist and pianist but more than anything, loved spending time with her family. Her support and prayers meant everything to them. She loved to read and took an interest in politics and world affairs. Marianne had a wonderful sense of humor, a gentle and forgiving spirit, and a deep faith in God.
Marianne is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Dave) Fallesen; two sons given through the gift of adoption; sister, Joanne (Chris) Kosta, nieces, Kateri, Megan and Emily (Jake); sister, Clare (Dave) Bohn , nieces Rachel and Sarah; brother-in-law, Randy (Jane) Walker, nephews, Matthew and Marcus (Ashley); aunts, Millie Naderer and Martha Finsel along with many cousins, friends and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Mary Gabel, sister, Rosanne Walker.

Marianne was always such a sweet person and a good friend. My condolences to her family and friends. It’s been many years since I’ve seen her, but have good memories. A sad loss.

Such sad news! I was a St. Mary’s Millersville girl with Marianne. We grew up together then on to SJHS. Stayed overnight occasionally, it was such fun to join the Gabel family. I never met more warm and loving people. Herb drove our school bus and Mary got me my job at SJHS. We remained good friends throughout high school. Peace and prayers for Marianne, Joanne and Clarianne and families.

I went to grade school with Her. I remember a gentle soul, always generous with the sweetest smile. I thought the world of her. I know this sweet woman will be dearly missed by her family.
I pray memories of her smile bring comfort to all who loved this remarkable woman.

My condolences to all of Marianne’s family and friends. She was a great friend during high school, but sadly, we lost touch over the years. I will always have fond memories of our friendship.
