Maria V. Vara, 67, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Elmwood Skilled Nursing Center in Fremont. She was born on November 18, 1954 in Los Angeles, CA to Mario and Isabel (Valdez) Vara, Sr. Maria enjoyed listening to blues music, reading books and she was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Maria is survived by her siblings, Hortensia (Jay) Clevenger, Huron, OH, Mario (Cheryl) Vara, Jr, Flat Rock, MI, Diana Vara and Olivia (Tom) Bauer, all of Fremont, OH; nieces and nephews, Mario Vara III, Danielle Sligar, Dustin Vara, Tommy Bauer Jr., Jaime Ritzman, and Jason Clevenger, seven great nieces and nephews and special cousin, Maruca Bettis..
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rodolfo “Rudy” Vara and her dog, Dordgi.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of ProMedica Hospital, especially Mariah, for their loving care to Maria.
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Service will follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of ProMedica Hospital.
