Maria De Jesus (Espinoza) Contreras

Maria De Jesus Contreras, 88, of Fremont, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 7, 2020. Maria was born on December 23, 1931 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Hemerejildo and Atanasia (Loredo) Espinoza.  Maria was a loving stay at home mother. She dedicated her time and love to her husband and children. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, laughing and making memories. Maria passed on her wisdom and many family traditions, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Maria is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Robert V. Contreras; children, Ida (Saul) Salinas, Daniel (Michele) Contreras, Lydia (Dave) Flores, all of Fremont, OH; brothers, Marcelino Espinoza from Edinburg, TX and Rafael Espinoza from Raymondville, TX; grandchildren; Eduardo Garcia Jr., Robert B. Contreras (Beckie), Felipe Flores, Amanda Salinas Sanchez (Adan), Alyssa Contreras, Teresa Salinas, Jennifer Flores, Brisa Salinas, Tesla Toth, James Toth, Nick Toth, and her great grandchildren; Callista Garcia, Estella Rose Contreras, Jose Contreras, Alina Contreras, Sofia Contreras, Emma Bennett, Xander Bennett, Aurora Barnard, Colt Flores, Hadley Nagy, and Barrett Nagy.

Maria’s family would like to recognize two very special aides, Shadae Sims and Sherry Sewell for their tremendous love and care of both Robert and Maria.

Maria is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Elpidio Loredo, Leonardo, Pedro, and Jose Espinoza; sister, Delia Muñiz, and daughter-in-law, Rosa Estella Contreras.

Services will be held private for the family.

Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
