Margery “Margie” J. Steen

Margery “Margie” J. Steen, 84, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Frank “Ding” and Alice (Dean) Buehler. She was a 1950 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received an Associate Degree from Terra Technical College.

Margie married Donald L. Steen on August 7, 1997 at First Presbyterian Church and he survives. She was employed at Eaton Controls and retired in 1980 after many years of service.

Margie was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of VFW Post 2947, American Legion #121, Fremont Elks and the Emblem Club where she was Past State President. She was a member of the Fremont Eagles #712, Fremont Moose Club and Fremont Yacht Club. Margie loved to camp, sew, do crafts and was an Ohio Reads Tutor. She was assistant director for Good Sam’s State Camping Club.

Margie is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Donald L. Steen, Fremont, OH; children, Sue Ann Huss, Pensacola, FL, Linda K. Williamson, Dallas, TX, step children, Karen Biewer, Dallas, TX, Wade T. (Marty) Steen, Columbus, OH, Shannon L. (Steve) Wood, Rockville, MD, Shawn D. Steen, Columbus, OH; brother David (Phyllis) Buehler, Fremont, OH; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH with an Emblem Service at 7:30 p.m.

Service: Thursday, April 28, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 120 S. Park Avenue, Fremont, OH with an hour of Visitation prior to the Service. Pastor William McConnell will officiate.

Memorials: First Presbyterian Church or to the Donor’s Choice.
