Manuel “Manny” Mendoza Ii
Manuel “Manny” Mendoza II, 38, of Fremont, OH passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He had bravely fought and lost his lengthy battle to Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. He was born October 17, 1982 in Harlingen, TX, to Manuel and Maria J. (Ortiz) Mendoza. He was a 2001 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School and graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science.
Manny married Gina E. Melchiori on May 8, 2010 and she survives. He worked as a Quality Technician at Whirlpool for ten years. Most recently Manny worked at Manny Pools, LLC. which his family owns and operates. He was the Operations Manager since December 2020.
Manny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his family. More than anything, he loved watching his children compete at swim meets. He was a proud swim dad and enjoyed volunteering at the meets. He loved family gatherings and his role as the “Grill Master”. Manny also enjoyed dabbling in the stock market. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.
Manny is survived by his wife of eleven years, Gina E. Mendoza; children, Layla and Manuel “Manny” III; parents Manuel and Maria J. Mendoza; brother, Marco A. (Tina Ohmart) Mendoza, all of Fremont, OH.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tomas M. Mendoza.
Manny was fiercely protective of his family. It was his wish that everyone in attendance for his visitation and Funeral Mass be vaccinated and wear a mask.
Visitation: Monday, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery
