Mahlon E. Miller

Mahlon E. Miller, 90, of Amsden Blvd, Fremont passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, OH. He was born on February 4, 1922 in Aaronsburg, PA, the son of Charles E. and Maude E. (Stover) Miller.

Mahlon served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from October 5, 1942 to December 1, 1945 as an Aviation Machinist Mate. He married Georgia J. Dymond on March 9, 1943 in Corpus Christi, TX and she survives.

Mahlon worked in Agricultural Management at Rural Service for thirty-nine years until he retired in 1985. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fremont where he was the head usher for many years. He was also a lifetime member of the Fremont V.F.W.

Mahlon is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Georgia J. Miller, Fremont, OH; son, Randy L. (Cindy) Miller, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Fremont, OH, Shalimar Miller and Ely Miller both of Tucson, AZ; great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Jayla Miller; siblings, Robert M. Miller of Flordia, Joyce Sampsell of Erie, PA; step sister, Lillian Vance of Pennsylvania; step brothers, John Best of Oregon and William Best of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Kathy L. Miller and Lamont S. Miller; brothers, Carl, Earl, James and Ray Miller, step-sisters, Elizabeth Heeman and Irene Hazel; granddaughter, Elizabeth Pocock.

Graveside Services: Wednesday, October 31, 2012; 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Chapel, 1793 W. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH. Military Honor’s will be provided by the American Legion and V.F.W.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Liberty Center, 1421 E. State St., Fremont, OH
