
Loren O. Hasselbach, 81, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 3, 2023 at Valley View Health Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 16, 1942 in Fremont, OH the son of Merlin and Edna (Waggoner) Hasselbach. Loren was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received an associate degree in engineering from the University of Toledo. He served in the Ohio National Guard for six years during the Vietnam War.
Loren married Trudy Lawrence on February 8, 1964 in Fremont and she survives. He worked at O.D.O.T. for thirty-one years retiring as a project inspection coordinator in 1994. Loren enjoyed stamp collecting, model railroading, wood working and genealogy.
Loren is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Trudy Hasselbach, Fremont; sons, Todd (Julie) Hasselbach, Fremont and Terry (Rosa) Hasselbach, Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Lindsey (Steve) Miller, Perrysburg, Jennifer (Jamin) Lozano, Fremont and Audrey Hasselbach, Oak Harbor; great grandchildren, Adeline, Bridgette and Gavin Miller and Isabella Lozano; siblings, Vicki Overmyer, Fremont, Lynn Bacon, Toledo and Randy (Kim) Hasselbach, Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Clyde, OH.
Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.

We’re going to miss this guy he was one of the best neighbor you could ever ask for, we watched each other’s back helping with any unforseen problems. Our heartfelt sorrow to Trudy and all of the families. . It’s just hard to believe we’re just going to be at a loss of him.
