
Laura D. Beck, 69, Fremont, OH passed away on August 28, 2016 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on September 2, 1946 in Fremont the daughter of the late George and Doris (Armstrong) Schaeffer. She was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received her certificate in cosmetology from Georgeann Academy of Hair Design in Tiffin.
Laura married David A. Beck on June 12, 1966 and they were later divorced. She worked for several years in cosmetology and then owned and managed Pfisterer’s Men’s Store. She enjoyed playing golf and was the Fremont Country Club Women’s Champion for several years. She also had a hole-in-one at FCC. She enjoyed watching tennis, playing cards with her many friends and was an avid Ohio State Fan. Laura had a green thumb and religiously took care of her plants.
Laura is survived by her sons, Christopher David (Shelli) Beck, Fremont, Robert Michael (Amy Aldredge) Beck, Smyrna, GA; sister, Marsha (James) Weaver, Fremont; grandchildren, Jordan, Bradley and Makenzie Beck; friend, Bob Sanford, Fremont; sister-in-law, Kathy Schaeffer, Fremont and her beloved companion, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Schaeffer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 3 pm – 6 pm at the Ridgeview Club House, 68 Linda Dr., Fremont, OH.
