Kathy and family, the announcement of Larry’s passing jerked my heart. After meeting him for the first time in kindergarten at Croghan School and hanging out with Diane after school he was always kind and amiable and full of fun. After so many years we found each other again on FB. It was always entertaining seeing his post. He will be missed. May the Lord be your comfort and peace during this difficult time. Blessings!

Kathy and Family…
We shared a long-time friendship with Larry. The ‘Voice of the Little Giants’, Baseball Coach, and a dedication to his work in so many fields. Both of our sons, Andy and Alec called when they learned of his passing. They were close to Larry and talked about the years of friendship and sports together. They said ‘Larry was a good guy and one of the nicest people they had ever known.’ Recently, we were in Applebee’s with Andy & his daughter. We were leaving and I heard Larry’s distinct laugh. He was at a table w/3 other people, one being a teacher from Ross, & as we got closer, he looked up & said “Is that the Shawl family, as we were in masks. We had a great visit. I mentioned the teacher because she shared some of our son’s antics during the time they were at Ross High. Hmmm, Andy’s face turned red & Larry dissolved in laughter. Larry walked down Tiffin Rd. every day . I was getting the mail one day & as he came near, I said “Larry,
it’s such a hot day & your face is bright red. Can you stop and have some water & rest a little? He did…and we became his daily ‘pit stop’. Loved all his stories. He is gone too soon; with many paying tribute to all the good things he brought to our lives.
Thoughts, Prayers and Blessings to the family.
