
Larry Milford Karr, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 14, 2023 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 9, 1936 in Fremont, OH the son of Elmer “Pete” Milford and Gladys (Vaness) Karr. Larry was a 1955 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and he attended Tiffin University. He then served in the US Navy from September 13, 1955 to November 9, 1956. Larry was very proud of his sons and grandsons that followed in his footsteps with fifty-nine years of combined service in the United States military.
Larry married Janette Louise Grove on September 14, 1957 in Gibsonburg, OH and she survives. He was a salesperson for KMH in Cleveland for seventeen years until he retired. He was also a Shaklee Distributor for over forty years. Larry was a member of Grace Community Church and a lifetime member of the Fremont VFW. He was an avid water-skier, enjoyed fishing and had a true passion for working out. Larry had a tremendous faith in God and loved to spread his faith with all he met. He loved his dog, Skipper.
Larry is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Janette Karr, Fremont; sons, Michael Milford Karr, Green Springs, Rodney (Sue) Karr, Fremont and Jeffrey Karr, Big Pine Key, FL; sister, Connie (Bob) Higgins, Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Mikyle Karr, Palm Harbor, FL, Shali (Frank) Cox, Green Springs, Ryan (Kristi) Weidmann, Phoenix, AZ, Mysti (Walt) Duff, Bellevue, Nikki (Dylan) Fain, Georgetown, OH, Alex (Rian) Karr, Fremont, Jordan (Lindy Davenport) Karr, Bellevue, Justin Karr, Fremont and Jarrett Karr, Norfolk, VA; great-grandchildren, Alison, Ryan, Kassity, Karlee, Melody, Lizzy, Allen, Austin, Ryker, Bronx, Aria, Khloe and Benicio.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 22, 2023; 10:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH with a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Burial: Four Mile House Cemetery, Fremont, OH with military honor’s provided by VFW and American Legion.
Memorials can be made to Grace Community Church or Stein Hospice.
