Kenney Allen Wright, 74, of Fremont, OH passed away surrounded at home by his family on Monday, September 11, 2023. He was born on September 23, 1948 in Fremont, OH to Richard and Helen (Livingstine) Wright. Kenney was a 1968 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He then went on to serve in the US Army from 1969 to 1970 where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with a Marksman 14 Badge and Marksman 16 Badge and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Following his time in the Army, he went on to serve twenty-five years in the National Guard. Kenney worked at Whirlpool for thirty-two years retiring in 2010. He enjoyed going to Camp Perry for tournaments and events, going to Walmart, various flea markets and gun shows, mowing, gardening, watching movies, tinkering with electronics and fixing things around the house, telling stories, cracking jokes and most of all, caring for his cat, Oreo.

Kenney is survived by his nephew, Eddie (Jammie) Wright, Rush, KY; nieces, Tracy Wright, Jeannie Wright and Shanna (Cody) White, all of Fremont, OH; great nieces and nephews, Brianna, Kassandra, Aaliyah, Draven, Zoe, Samara, Colan, Gavin, Keshia (Ryan), Dylan (Breanna) and Steven (Chyna); great nieces, Nevaeh and Ariana; sister-in-law, Rosemary Bartlett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Wright and great nephew, Nolan.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will take place Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Andrea Thurston officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and VFW.
