Sending my love and prayers to you all. Karla was truly a kind and wonderful person. You could feel her warmth and love of life and family no matter what she was going through. One of the toughest women I have known. Although the loss of her is painful, it’s a comfort to know that her pain is ended and she is now at peace in heaven. Hugs to you all!

I am deeply saddened to hear of Karla’s passing. Although we have been out of touch since our family reunions stopped, I have many memories of her sweetness and gentle attitude. As a young girl I remember her laughing and smiling. I know she will be missed but I also know she left the world a better place. Rest in Peace Karla.

    Erin,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Your mother was an amazing woman who was a consistent source of kindness and warmth. She also had the amazing ability to pass that on to you. She always knew the right thing to say to absolutely make my day and that left a very lasting impression on me. I hope that there is a time and place in the future that you can find peace and comfort again.

When I was 16 I was worked as a bragger at Kroger. One day I took groceries out for a very cheerful, friendly woman who I didn’t know. She asked me where I went to school and when I said “St Joe”, she replied “Oh! I’m Erin Hoffman’s mom!” It made so much sense; the similar sunny disposition was a perfect match.
So sorry for your loss and your family is in my prayers.

So sad to hear Karla passed away. Karla was my 5th grade teacher at Clyde St. Mary’s. I would see her at church over the years & she always took the time to stop & talk. Heaven definitely gained an angel. Karla helped me through some very difficult 5th grade silly problems. So sorry for your loss!

    Dear Mark and Erin,
I cannot even express my sorrow for your family. You will always be in my prayers. Karla was my life long friend and now my hero. May time ease your pain and help you cherish all the wonderful memories of Karla. To know that she is pain free and now with God does bring comfort. How blessed was I to have been Her friend for all these years. She will be so missed.
And Karla my dear friend your journey here is over. Go with the angels. I will be watching for the “God Winks”.

Mark, Erin and Mike….we were deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Karla’s passing. Though we have not seen you all much since everyone graduated we feel a certain bond with you all, mostly because Karla was one of the warmest, sweetest, most caring people I have ever met. I have fond memories of sharing many great conversations with her; she was so easy to talk to and a great listener. May God bless and comfort you with the knowledge that she is free from suffering and rejoicing with loved ones. Sending you all love and prayers from Bill, Trish, Travis and Leanne Smith.
