
Judith A. Shanahan, 80, of Fremont, OH passed away at Valley View Healthcare on Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was born on September 24, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH to Herbert and Helen (Schaffer) Cook. Judy married Patrick J. Shanahan on February 8, 1958 at St. Ann Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2014. Judy was a homemaker and was a member of Women of the Moose and various card clubs. She enjoyed crafting, being by the water and spending time with her grandchildren and will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
Judy is survived by her children, Debora Hirt (Ed Fitzgerald), Port Clinton, OH, Jeffrey (Glenda) Shanahan, Helena, OH, Robert (Jodi) Shanahan and Patrick (Sara) Shanahan, all of Fremont, OH; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Michael, Ruthie Meek, both of Fremont, OH, Vickie Cook, Clyde, OH, Violet Cook of Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Harold Swartz; husband; siblings, Frank, Herbert, Kenny and Ronald (Ruth Ann) Cook and Faye Miller.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 10:00 am to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Deacon James Heyman officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
Memorials can be made in Judy’s honor to American Heart Association.
