
Joyce Marie Thomas, 57, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 12, 2023 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born on September 19, 1965 in Tiffin, OH, the daughter of Susan Thomas. She was a 1983 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received her Associate Degree in Business from Terra State Community College. Joyce was an intake specialist at the Liberty Center for four years until she retired on February 9, 2023. She was a devoted advocate for the homeless and those with mental health problems and addiction dependencies. She had also worked at Family Dollar and Rural King over the years.
Joyce enjoyed bingo, traveling, reading and sun tanning by the pool or beach. She was very active at the Liberty Center’s Baumann Auto Charity Raffle. Joyce mostly loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had an amazing relationship with her sisters. They enjoyed weekly sister parties, in addition to yearly vacations together.
Joyce is survived by her children, Michael (Katy) Heminger, Tega Cay, SC, Emilee (Jerry) Kiesel, Bowling Green, OH and Jessica Valle, Fremont; grandchildren, Adele, Aaron and Audrey Heminger, Roman and Lola Kiesel; sisters, Brenda Thomas and Jill (Jody) Keegan both of Fremont; niece and nephews, Bridget Thomas, Cody (Bethany) and Spencer (Alie) Keegan.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Susan Thomas.

The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

I am going to miss our talks for sure! I remember when we were kids riding our bikes everywhere & helping her with her paper route! We hung out a lot when we were kids!
