Joyce Ann Bibbs Brown departed this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 29, 1940 in Fremont, Ohio. She was the daughter of Lillian Sewell Smith and George Bibbs.

As a young lady she professed a hope in Christ and was baptized. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School.

She met and fell in love with Herman Brown. This union was blessed with four children, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Gregory, and Danielle. Mrs. Brown worked at several different jobs which included Memorial Hospital, Peter Eckrich, WSOS Child Development, and retired from Crescent manufacturing.

Joyce Ann (Nana/Punkin) Brown took much pride in both her home and her family, often forcing you to “eat something” before you left. Her loving smile and kindness penetrated throughout Western Ave. and Whitney Drive neighborhoods. No one could beat her at making spaghetti or macaroni and cheese.

Mrs. Brown leaves in God’s care, her ex-husband, Herman, three children, Stephanie (James) Martin and Jeffrey Brown both of Fremont, Gregory Brown of Toledo, Ohio., Ten grandchildren Jaime, Shayla, Travis, Michael, Taylor, Greg, Morgan, Justin, Jericha , and Jadrian, 13 great grandchildren Mychaela, Mychal, Jeriah, Arryana, Michael, Braylon, Tyrell, Xavier, Kayla, Adriana, Javon, Levi, Ariel along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving step father Isaac Smith, infant daughter Danielle, and sister, Patricia Davis.

Visitation: Friday from 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Saturday, September 5, 2015, 11:00 am at First Baptist Missionary Church, with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service, 1699 Dickinson St, Fremont, OH. Rev. William Holmes officiating

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery

    Words cannot express how my heart saddens for you all. I pray that the Lord will provide you with his sweet peace and cover you with his mercy in your time of grief. Nothing can compare to the loss of a mother. Hold on to your faith and trust and believe that you will see her again. I love you all..

    It was always a warm feeling in your house when we came to visit. I wish I could’ve learned to made some of that mac & cheese from you! lol I know that you and Nana are together living freely in the heavens. You will be missed. I love you.

    My deepest sympathies to all of you during this time. Joyce was such a blessing to Travis & I. I always told here how thankful I was for all the sacrifices she made for Travis. She was very special and I,m thankful to have know her. My you feel the peace of the lord. Sandy.

    The world lost one of the nicest people and neighbors. You and I had our times but, I know you cared for me and I cared for you just as much. I will miss our talks and waves to each other alot. You were a great person. I will always remember you as the feisty person you were. May God take care of you until we see each other again.
