
Joyce Ann Bibbs Brown departed this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 29, 1940 in Fremont, Ohio. She was the daughter of Lillian Sewell Smith and George Bibbs.
As a young lady she professed a hope in Christ and was baptized. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School.
She met and fell in love with Herman Brown. This union was blessed with four children, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Gregory, and Danielle. Mrs. Brown worked at several different jobs which included Memorial Hospital, Peter Eckrich, WSOS Child Development, and retired from Crescent manufacturing.
Joyce Ann (Nana/Punkin) Brown took much pride in both her home and her family, often forcing you to “eat something” before you left. Her loving smile and kindness penetrated throughout Western Ave. and Whitney Drive neighborhoods. No one could beat her at making spaghetti or macaroni and cheese.
Mrs. Brown leaves in God’s care, her ex-husband, Herman, three children, Stephanie (James) Martin and Jeffrey Brown both of Fremont, Gregory Brown of Toledo, Ohio., Ten grandchildren Jaime, Shayla, Travis, Michael, Taylor, Greg, Morgan, Justin, Jericha , and Jadrian, 13 great grandchildren Mychaela, Mychal, Jeriah, Arryana, Michael, Braylon, Tyrell, Xavier, Kayla, Adriana, Javon, Levi, Ariel along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving step father Isaac Smith, infant daughter Danielle, and sister, Patricia Davis.
Visitation: Friday from 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Saturday, September 5, 2015, 11:00 am at First Baptist Missionary Church, with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service, 1699 Dickinson St, Fremont, OH. Rev. William Holmes officiating
