John was one of my best friends in high school. and until I moved to the Washington DC area. Only saw him at reunions after that, He was a great guy, we did a lot together. A funny story is that once he needed new hubcaps for his car, and we just drove out to a junk yard, parked and walked in like we owned the place. When we came out, there was a police car. It escorted John home and then dropped me off at hone. The policeman came in and told my father, who he knew, what had happened, Needless to say, old man was not happy, and I was grounded for a while.

My sincere condolences to John’s family and friends. He was a great guy, always fun to be around, and I would have liked to see him more in later years.
