
John “Jack Louis Mayle, 90, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was born on February 18, 1932 in Fremont to Irvin and Florence (Darr) Mayle. Jack was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Jack married Mary (Halbisen) Sours on July 4, 1964. He worked at Fremont Tool and Die and retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Clyde, OH. He loved to talk and tell stories about walleye/perch fishing, the latest news about Fremont.
Jack was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a very active member of the SJCC Booster Club. He was a member of the Moose, Elks and Eagles. Jack enjoyed time on Lake Erie and at Mayleville and breakfasts with friends.
Surviving is his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Sours Mayle, Fremont, OH; children, Greg Sours, Grove City, OH; grandson, Bryan Sours, Portland, OR; sisters, Jean Wasserman, Jane (Ken) Smith and brother, Louie (Diane) Mayle; brother-in-law, Dick Ross and sister-in-law, Ruthann (Tony) Ruggiero.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Patricia Mayle, James (his twin), Janet Overmyer, Joyce Ross, Thomas Mayle; brothers-in-law, Don Wasserman and Jim Overmyer.
Visitation: Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, April 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Joseph Booster Club.
