Joan Guthrie, age 67 of Fremont, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in her home. She was born to the late Jack Mullholland and Lola VanAtta Mullholand on November 28, 1952.
Joan’s smile was infectious; she could light up a room. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Her happy place was with her family and friends dancing, laughing and enjoying the best of what life has to offer. She never showed pain or weakness and was the most selfless person we knew. She is now at peace and reunited with her parents; brother Jack; and sisters Beverly and Jane.
Joan is survived by her husband Mike of 42 years; children Mike (Ashley), Nicole, Laura (Eric); and grandchildren Avery and Cameron.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Waite & Sons Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road Brunswick, Ohio 44212.
A memorial visitation will also take place on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH 43420. A vigil service will take place at 5:00 p.m. A celebration of life gathering will then follow at the Depot, 117 N Monroe St, Fremont, OH 43420.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cleveland APL, or to the ASPCA.

Joan ALWAYS had a smile on her face! You could be having the worst of days and she would cheer you up in an instant! She truly will be missed! I wish I could attend the memorial service but I will be out of state at that time. Please know that you are in my prayers. Keep sharing those memories of Joan. Know that, although she is no longer physically here, she lives on in our hearts. May you find comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Joan was always such a nice and kind person. Even though I had only seen her a few times since high school, I can still sense her goodness. We will miss her.

I remember dancing a lot with Joan in our younger days. Bill and I were blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with Joan and her dad at the VFW in Fremont on taco night. We will miss you Joan. Your family is in our prayers.

Joan was like a sister to me! She was always so kind and encouraging! She was a ball of fire! She loved to dance and taught my sisters and me all her crazy dance moves! I am so impressed with her courage in all the difficult times in her life! What a beautiful woman to look up to!
