Jesus “Jessie” Rodriguez

Rodriguez Jesus

Jesus “Jessie” Rodriguez, 74, of Fremont, OH passed away on October 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH.  He was born on June 30, 1947 in Progreso, Texas, the son of Nieves and Maria (Cantu) Rodriguez.  Jessie married Jean Suter on March 22, 1984 in Fremont, OH and she survives.  Jessie had worked for various farmers in the area before becoming a mechanic at Fritz Meyer Garage.  He then worked for many years as an operator at MGQ until he retired in 2011.  He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and traveling.  Jessie was known for always helping people.

Jessie is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Jean Rodriguez, Fremont; son, Jessie (Amy Anderson) Rodriguez, Jr., Shelton, CT; grandchildren, Olivia, Nora and Benjamin Rodriguez; siblings, Margarito (Maria) Rodriguez, Progreso, TX and Connie (Frank) Ysasi, Lake City, SC and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gilbert Rodriguez, Maria del Carmen Rodriguez, Ricardita Rodriguez and Juanita Rodriguez.

Visitation: Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

A celebration of life ceremony will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.

    Dearest Jean, I am so very sorry, losing Jessie is a great loss for you, Junior and his family, Jessie’s family and so many of us. So thankful for all the times we had together, so fun and always great food! Jessie will be greatly missed, but I know the two of you made so many loving and caring friends who will be there as you learn to adjust to loss of your best friend.
    I love you, and miss you. You’re always in my prayers and will always be. ❤️

    What wonderful guy. I sure enjoyed all the time we spent at Heinz and the sugar mill hauling into those places. You truly a special tuff guy who would always lend a hand and a smile.

    Jean and Junior and family,
    We are simply shocked and heartbroken! Jessie was such a great guy in every way. So kind and generous, funny, and an amazing cook!! We still talk about his smoked chicken… so good!!
    To this day, thru all of our travels and relocations, you guys were the very best neighbors we’ve ever had. And so much more than just neighbors and friends… you’re part of our family.
    Jessie will surely be missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him. Such a tremendous loss. Our love and prayers are with you.
