
Jean A. Cleveland, 85, of Green Springs, OH passed away Monday, August 1, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born on November 9, 1931 in Bellevue, OH to Elmer and Florence (Craig) Zepernick.
Jean was a 1949 graduate of Green Springs High School. She worked for the Fremont Kroger’s for fifteen years as Head Deli Clerk. Jean married former husband Clifton Cleveland on June 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2011. She was a member of Old Fort Church, VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 6067, Clyde Eagles and the Finger Pickers Quilt Guild. Jean was also a 4H leader for ten years in Sandusky County. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and painting.
Jean is survived by her children, Stephen Cleveland, Circle Pines, MN, Lynn (Kay) Cleveland, Harrison, OH, Patrick (Kathy) Cleveland, Terry Cleveland, both of Green Springs, OH, Jeffrey (Jackie) Cleveland, Tiffin, OH, Sarah (Chris) Humbert, Green Springs, OH, Shawn (Wendy) Cleveland, Upper Arlington, OH; siblings, Kenneth (Van) Zepernick, Green Springs, OH; Ruth Ann (Jim) Audritsh, Woodburn, OR, Elizabeth (Ted Overmyer) Butzin, Helena, OH; brother-in-law, Dave Christoff, Woodburn, OR; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas (Becky) Cleveland and sister, Jane Christoff.
Memorial Visitation: Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH 44836.
Memorial Service: Thursday, August 10, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Norman Murray officiating.
Burial: Green Springs Cemetery
