Janice M. Bowersox, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on February 25, 1936 in Pikeville, KY to Lawrence and Juanita (Francis) Childress. Janice married Jack Bowersox on July 25, 1954 in Fremont, OH and he preceded her on December 4, 1970. She retired from Eveready Battery when they ceased production in 1998 after many years of service. Janice was a member of Fremont Baptist Temple Church where she loved attending and serving. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, caring for her dogs and spending time with her family.
Janice is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer (Jamie) Karr-Wood, Upper Sandusky, OH; daughter-in-law, Mary Frederick, Fremont, OH; siblings, Wanda Mitten, North Wood, OH, Jackie (Roy) Trivitt, Richmond, VA, Steve (Patty) Childress, Coalfield, TN; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved.
She is preceded by her parents; husband; son, Michael Bowersox; siblings, Portia Colwell, Johnny Childress, Terry Childress and Annette Stacy.
A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023, 10:00 am at Four Mile House Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
Memorials can be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 1315 N. River Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.
