Jan was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award his senior year. He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ohio Northern University.

Jan worked at Whirlpool in Clyde, performed duties as operations manager at the Ramada Inn in Fremont, served as engineer at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor, was employed at Aeroquip Inoac as a mechanical engineer and finished his career in human resources at School of Hope, both in Fremont. Jan loved watching his kids play sports and march in the band. He enjoyed meeting his friends at the local coffee shop and attending the latest theater production with his family. I worked with Jan at Aeroquip-Inoac from the mid to late 90’s. He was kind and caring. He loved to engage in the morning B.S. sessions in the engineering office and was always smiling.
My condolences to Jan’s family. Gary Aultman

Trude, Therese, Dennis and Jan’s Children and Grandchildren; I cannot express the degree of my sorrow at hearing of Jan’s death. My sister in Fremont informed me just this evening. In our younger years, Jan and I were friends. In fact, Jan was my best friend until college pulled us in different directions. There is hardly a time that I think of school days in Fremont that Jan is not part of the memory. I am so very sorry that we did not stay in touch. Please accept my heartfelt sorrow at his passing. Dave Edwards
