James A. Smith, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He was born in Amherst, Virginia on July 17, 1933 to Henry Clinton Smith and Zella (Milam) Wolfenbarger.
Jim married Virginia J. Lemaster in 1954 in Covington, VA and she survives. He enjoyed walking, fishing, playing cards, being a blood donor, visiting friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Virginia J. Smith; daughter, Cheryl (Fred) Widman both of Fremont, OH; grandsons, Clinton Smith and Matt (Jessica) Dearth both of Gibsonburg, OH; step granddaughter, Deb Level; great grandchildren, Hannah and Allison Dearth; step great grandchildren, Richard and Jennifer Sebastian; step great-great granddaughter, Abigail and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James Robert Smith; siblings, Ernest Smith and Velma Fuller.
Services will be held private for family and friends.
Burial will take place at Bellevue Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Jim’s honor to Family Worship Center, Heartland Hospice or the American Red Cross.
