
Howard “Howie” S. Seaman, 69, of Fremont, OH passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born July 19, 1947 in Zanesville, OH to Samuel Howard and Sadie (Tanoury) Seaman. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Howie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Tiffin University.
Howie married Doris M. Halbisen on November 1, 1975 in Michigan and she survives. He and Doris owned and operated Howie’s Tavern on Ohio Avenue in Fremont for thirty-eight years until he retired in 2014.
Howie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Order of The Moose and Ducks Unlimited. He was a hunter and enjoyed riding his Harley, sports and playing cards with his friends. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Howie is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Doris M. Seaman, Fremont, OH; daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Radde, Grove City, OH and Magdalena (Daniel) Laughlin, Perrysburg, OH; siblings, John Seaman, Bel-Air, MD, James (Najah) Seaman, Oregon, OH and Catherine Swart, Maumee, OH; grandchildren, Jaid, Jaxon, Gavin, Oliver and Everly and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Adam Swart.
Visitation: Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, June 24, 2017: 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH, with Fr. John Blasar officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH
Memorials: Stein Hospice or Autism Society of Northwest Ohio
