Gretta Faye Rakes
Gretta Faye Rakes, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, April 05, 2013 in King George, VA at the home of her son. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Seneca County, OH to Buford F. and Anna J. (Slater) Rakes. She was a graduate of Clyde High School.
Gretta worked as a Clerk for Swint-Reineck Hardware Store. She was also an Accountant for area automobile dealerships for twenty-three years. Gretta was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fremont VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Women of The Moose. She enjoyed reading mysteries, spending time with her flowers in the garden, travelling, spending time with family and friends, and games of chance.
Gretta is survived by her children, Richard J. Jewett, Jr., Los Angeles, CA; Randall J. (Laura) Jewett, King George, VA; Michelle A. Thorn, Jacksonville, TX; siblings, Dallas A. Rakes, Clyde, OH; Ruth E. Carroll, Tiffin, OH; Carol J. Lieske, Green Springs, OH; Gilbert L. Rakes, Fremont, OH; Neil R. Rakes, Denver, CO; and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Renee L. Jewett-Thompson.
Visitation: Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Thursday, April 11, 2013, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Koppenhofer officiating.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
