Glenn R. Halm

Glenn R. “Mouse” Halm, 94, of Fremont, OH passed away on December 11, 2021 at Elmwood Communities in Fremont, OH.  He was born on October 9, 1927 in Fremont the son of Stan and Ursula (Wasserman) Halm.  He was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School where he was voted the captain and MVP of the 1945 basketball team.  He then received an accounting degree from Tiffin University.  Glenn married Mary Ann Recktenwald on June 14, 1952 at St Ann Catholic Church and she survives.  He worked many years as an accountant retiring from Century Tool and Die.  Glenn was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Fremont K of C.  He officiated high school football and basketball for fifty years and was inducted into the Ohio High School Officials Hall of Fame in 1996.

Glenn is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Mary Ann Halm; sons, Bill (Laurie) Halm, John Halm and Tom Halm; sister, Irene (Bill) Rimelspach, all of Fremont; grandchildren, Nick (Katie), Kelly (Dane), Jake (Julia), David, Molly (Mark), Elizabeth (Chris), Caroline, Pierce and Lance; great grandchildren, Sophie, Henry, Liam, Harrison, Emmett, Naomi, Simone, Aine, Tiernan, Tadhg, Amelia and Eva.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom (Jean) Halm and Bill Halm; sister, Florence (Cy) Reardon.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elmwood and Valley View Nursing Homes for their compassionate care that they gave Glenn during his illness.

Visitation:  Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial:  Friday, December 17, 2021; 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH
