Gary L. Perkins

Gary L. Perkins, 62, of Fremont, OH went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home. He was born August 27, 1951 in Fremont, the son of Donald and Evelyn (Buehler) Perkins. He was a 1969 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and then received an Associate Degree from Terra Community College.

Gary married Marie Shimer on August 28, 1970 in Fremont and she survives. He and his wife own and operate DaVinci’s Gallery & Coffee House in Fremont. Gary formerly owned and operated Gallery on The Lake in Port Clinton, OH. Prior to that he worked in the Nuclear Power Industry.

Gary was a member and Board member of Journey Church. He served as Past President of Fremont Rotary Club. He was a member of the Visitors Bureau and a founding member of the American Woodturners Association. Gary was a member of the Voices of Harmony Barber Shop Chorus and a member of the Downtown Business Association. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, puzzles and singing. Above all he loved the Lord and his church.

Gary is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Marie Perkins; father and step mother, Donald E. and Vivian Perkins; siblings, Thomas E. (Chris) Perkins, Larry L. (Wanda) Perkins, all of Fremont, OH, Kristine A. (Patrick) Rusch of Midland, MI and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Perkins; grandparents, Lawrence and Mabel Buehler, Olive and Richard Clark.
