
Frederick A. Wehring, 68, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 16, 2018. He was born on July 4, 1949 in Fremont, OH the son of George and Rosanna (Fisher) Wehring. He was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Terra Community College. Fred married Sandra L Everly on July 13, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and she survives.
Fred worked for Peter Eckrich and Sons for many years until they closed. He then worked in the maintenance department at Port Clinton City Schools until he retired. Fred then worked part time at the Sandusky County YMCA in maintenance.
Fred was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and recently attended the ACTS Retreat which impacted his life. He was also a member of the Fremont Elks Lodge and the Fremont Eagles where he was a past officer. Fred enjoyed fishing, traveling to Amish country with his family and loved his dog, Biscuit. He was an avid University of Michigan Fan and enjoyed visiting the stadium. Fred’s true love of his life was his wife, Sandy and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his nightly drives around town to go by all of his kid’s houses.
Fred is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Sandra Wehring; children, Melissa (Brian) Flahiff, Jonathan (Michelle) Wehring, Tiffany (Jerame Rogers) Wehring and Heather (David) McDonald all of Fremont; siblings, Michael Wehring, Fremont and Janet (Tom) Bailey, Clyde; grandchildren, Jason (Morgan) Wehring, Alex Sipsma, Tyler Wehring, Morgan Wehring, Logan Rogers, Alyssa Garcia, Abby Rogers, Stephanie and Ashley Flahiff and many special nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Thomas Wehring and Sharon Raubenolt.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. Vigil services will start at 7:30 p.m. for the Elks followed by the church.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, June 20, 2018; 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH with Fr. Chris Kardzis officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH
Memorials: Hospice of ProMedica Hospital or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
