I am forever grateful to Fran for sharing her love of music with me and encouraging me to study music professionally. She got me started subbing for Masses at St. Joseph’s Church playing piano. Then began to give me lessons in high school on the organ at St. Joseph and helped me prepare for my auditions at BGSU where I studied organ. Her love for sacred music and the organ is truly why I’m doing what I do now and I’m so thankful for all the years I was able to work with Fran. She was truly a special lady who I will never forget. I have many fond memories of practicing organ and piano duets in the organ loft and practicing music together for Christmas and Easter. We did more laughing than practicing usually LoL – she had an infectious laugh that I can still hear 🙂 I will think of her often – every time I hike the stairs to the organ loft at St. Joseph’s and play the organ. Fran thank you for being a great friend, mentor and one of the kindest, sweetest people I’ve known. John and family – you are in my prayers. May you rest in God’s loving embrace.

John and Family,
Greg and I wish to pass along our sincere condolences on the passing of Fran. I can still see her through her window, at her piano, from our front porch, as she passed along her love of music to so many kids, including our girls. – (how convenient to have their piano teacher across the street.) It seems the girls would always come home with a funny story about their lesson across the street. They could imitate her laugh exactly! She was an inspiration to her many students. She will be missed by so many ! Blessings to you, John, and your girls.
In sympathy,
Jane and Greg Strayer
