
Floyd R. Slatter, Jr., 82, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Monday, December 14, 2015. He was born on February 5, 1933 in Fremont, the son of Floyd R., Sr. and Mary E. (Small) Slatter. He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Floyd served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957 where he received the Marksman (Rifle) Badge and Good Conduct Medal.
Floyd married Marcia Rhees on June 6, 1964 in Indianapolis, IN and she survives. He enjoyed his work as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Ohio Operating Engineers for forty years and retired in 1996. Floyd was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Historical Construction Equipment Association.
Floyd is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Marcia Slatter, Fremont, OH; children, Steven R. Slatter, Mascoutah, IL, Joseph A. (Julia) Slatter, Lakewood, CO and Amy J. Slatter, Fremont, OH; sister, Florene Slatter, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Patrick, Emma and Erik Slatter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
