
Emery E. Gill, 78, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 14, 2017 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on May 1, 1939 in West Union, OH to Emery “Forrest” and Olive Mattie (Armstrong) Gill.
Emery married Eileen Culbertson on September 9, 1967 in Clyde, OH and she survives. He worked at Ford Motor Company as a quality control liaison for thirty years until he retired in 1995. Emery was a member of Grace Community Church and enjoyed mowing his lawn, reading and was an amateur radio operator.
Emery is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Eileen Gill; children, Phillip (Annette) Gill, Van Wert, OH and Belva (Tom) Herdman, Lancaster, OH; sister, Gladys Rader, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Herdman, Nathanael Gill and Sarah Gill and great grandchild, Peyton Herdman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Charles Gill, Mary Louise Johnson, Forresta Bollenbacher, Hazel Carol Goehring.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Service: Thursday, July 20, 2017; 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd., Fremont with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
Memorials: Gideon International, Asia’s Hope Orphanages Doi Saket 3 and Doi Saket 4 at Grace Community Church or Stein Hospice.
